A shrine is rapidly growing for the Greek pensioner who killed himself.
It was a very public suicide...during the morning rush hour...at a busy metro station...close to the Greek Parliament building.
Retired pharmacist...Dimitris Christoulas, 77...shot himself in the head...shocking crowds of commuters.
His note said he couldn't survive on his reduced pension...and that he didn't want to leave debts for his children.
"I find no other solution than a dignified end before I start searching through the trash for food," read a note found in his pocket.
And many Greeks...outraged by austerity measures...and are paying tribute to him.
