BRASIL: Strike Stops Amazon's Massive Belo Monte Dam Construction.

http://www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=496795&CategoryId=14090

Environmental groups and their many lawsuits so far haven't been able to stop construction on the Amazon's $11 billion mega-dam Belo Monte...so important to President Dilma Rousseff's energy plans.
But work has stopped...after a walkout by about 80% of the workers over cost of living issues...and negotiations have broken down.
Workers are demanding 3x their monthly food subsidy...and more leave time.
