Over 400 rioting inmates finally surrendered...after a police assault on their Aracaju prison.
The prisoners had been holding nearly 100 people hostage.
No information about casualties was released.
The rioters demanded speedier trials...and new prison bosses.
They had taken 3 wardens...and 120 civilians captive...but released 27 civilians and one warden...in exchange for water and electricity.
