At least 6 were killed...and 4 injured...after gangs fought for control of an illegal gold mine... in the Manaima sector on the Paragua River.
Police and 400 military were sent to evict the miners.
3,000 people were removed from the mine in December.
Officials estimate there are still some 1,500 illegal miners in the region.
