A Quintana Roo judge dismissed criminal charges against contractors for a 2010 resort hotel explosion in Playa del Carmen...that killed five Canadians and two Mexican workers.
The explosion...from a hidden and unapproved heated swimming pool gas line...also injured 18 Canadians.
However, the judge said victims' relatives could file civil suits against those named in the criminal complaint.
Mexico sets basic compensation in wrongful deaths cases...at about $3,700.
