Argentina's soil and climate are ideal to raise cattle.
But they are also ideal for growing soybeans.
More hardened cattlemen are abandoning the gaucho lifestyle...and planting soy...as prices for the bean have tripled in the past decade...because of demand from Asia.
Its total cattle herd is down 17% from 2007...while this year's soybean is estimated at 50 million tons...vs 30 million tons a decade ago.
"Cattle are no longer as economical," said the profiled rancher. "Globalization affects us all."
