COSTA RICA : Narco Shipments And Violence...Surging.
Peaceful little Costa Rica's central location...is slowly killing it.
Ticos are experiencing more violence...because their nation has become an important transit point for cocaine...from the Andes to the USA.
Narcos gangs like Los Zetas invaded Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras...after Mexico's armed forces got tougher since 2006.
Now...the narco thugs are making their presence felt in Costa Rica...a nation that hasn't needed an army since 1948.
But in 2012...its anti-narco cops seized 15.5 tons of coke...worth $2 billion...double 2011's amount.
