RUSSIA : Putin Sacks Armed Forces Chief Gen. Makarov.

     The heads of Russia's top defense leaders continue to roll.
     President Putin has axed armed forces chief Gen Nikolai Makarov (above)...replacing him with Chechnyan veteran Gen Valery Gerasimov ( foto with Putin).
     Putin sacked Defense Minister Serdyukov this week...allegedly over possible corruption charges...and other improprieties.
