After a recent disturbance where 4 police were injured...a judge ordered protesting 40 taxistas arrested Monday...and held without bail.
The taxi drivers are angry about the high price of gas...selling at $5.30 per gallon.
They protested again Tuesday...demanding larger subsidies from the government.
But the protest that blocked 3 roads...turned violent...injuring 3 police...one seriously.
2 taxistas were also injured.
Nicas pay some of the highest gas prices in the hemisphere despite deep discounts from Venezuela...and ALBA.
