Lawmaker Alexei Pushkov told BLOOMBERG by phone...that new President Vlad Putin will be the first Russian leader...since 1998...to skip this week's G8 meeting...because the USA has 'nothing to propose'...as Putin forms a new government.
Pushkov then got testy: “Why does the U.S. think it can be sure the Russian president will pay a visit? The American side thinks it can call the parliamentary election illegitimate, send its ambassador to meet with the radical opposition that shouts ‘Russia without Putin,’ doubt the presidential election and criticize Russian authorities for half a year.”
But PM Dmitri Medvedev will attend the summit.
