PERU: Human Rights Commission Re-Examines Bloody 1997 Japan Embassy Raid; Humala's Approval Sinks To 51%.

     15 years after troops finally rescued 72 hostages.. kept by Tupac Amaru rebels in the Japanese ambassador's residence for 126 traumatic days...the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights reviewed the evidence.
     Their findings suggest that 3 of the 14 dead rebels surrendered...but instead were executed on the spot.
    One hostage and 2 commandos also died during the rescue effort.


   AND:  New polling data shows President Ollanta Humala's approval rating dropped by 5%...to 51%...after public outrage over the army's recent embarrassing encounters with Shining Path rebels...that also forced resignations of 2 cabinet ministers.
