Former Cuban political prisoners...now living in Spain...are protesting the end of governmental assistance.
Under former socialist PM Zapatero...from July 2010 to April 2011...Spain accepted 115 dissidents..and 647 family members...providing them with housing, food, healthcare, transport and job training...for one year.
After a 6-month extension...it all ended under conservative new PM Mariano Rajoy.
With Spain's unemployment at 24%...and intense pressure from foreign investors and the eurozone...Rajoy has made severe budget cuts.
The Cubans say they have been set adrift...and now face the same bleak prospects as other immigrants and many citizens.
