   Thousands of empty red chairs were displayed...symbolizing 11, 541 victims...killed in Sarajevo...where the 4 year war began.
    Sarajevo observed the war's start in Bosnia in April 1992...a conflict that killed 100,000 people...and forced half the population from their homes. 
   An average 330 shells landed on the city...every day.
   The siege of Sarajevo (pop. 380,000) lasted longer than the 900 day siege of Leningrad/St. Petersburg.
