No stranger to controversy...when aging singer Madonna performs in PM Putin's hometown... St. Petersburg in August...she vows she will defy its new law against promoting homosexuality.
“I will come to St. Petersburg to speak up for the gay community and to give strength and inspiration to anyone who is or feels oppressed,” the pop star wrote in an e-mail. “I’m a freedom fighter.”
The law forbids gay, lesbian and transgendered 'propaganda.'
