Despite an initally successful movie-like helicopter escape from a remote prison...murderer Alexei Shestakov, 35...was caught not far away from the village of Sheksna in Vologda.
Police encountered and wounded Shestakov...who had served 12 years of a 24-year sentence...for murder and theft...as he stopped a car.
His helpers had booked a helicopter and then hijacked it at gunpoint.
It had hovered above the jail...as the convict climbed its ladder.
