Another minister has resigned...or been pressured to resign...after alleged police violence during an indigena protest march.
Interior Minister Sacha Llorenti (right) and his deputy stepped down...while denying any responsibility for the police action.
The month-long trek to La Paz by nearly a thousand indigena to protest completion of a road thru the Amazon...has brought a halt to the road's construction... after the police confrontation.
President Evo Morales stopped road construction...and says he will allow the 2 Amazon provinces to decide the issue...perhaps thru referendums.
More than 500 police had wielded truncheons, fired tear gas and arrested marchers...resulting in Defense Minister Cecilia Chacon (below) resigning in protest.
An infant was reportedly killed...and 37 protesters...including children...were reported missing after the confrontation.
President Evo Morales' popularity is near a new low...37%.
