BRASIL: Severe Amazon Droughts Worry Scientists.

BBC/ Richard Black /

The journal "Science" reveals that the Amazon's 2010 drought was more widespread than the last big one in 2005 with more tree lost than reported, according to scientists.
The 2005 drought had been termed a "one in a century" event.
In drought years, the Amazon region becomes a net emitter of carbon dioxide from being an important net absorber.
