MONDAY MORNING MUSIC: From Miami To Cuba With Hope: Willy Chirino.

YOUTUBE/ 4:42 video is a bit blurry but it explodes with 2 tambores/bongo solos/

   Willy Chirino's 1998 classic..."Cuba Libre."

   Music can be so energizing.
And when it comes to Mondays, I need all the energy I can muster, so I've been replaying this song all weekend to get ready for the new week and a ton of unread news items.
When I am here in the USA for Christmas, it always makes me nostalgic... for Cuba...where it is barely celebrated or even acknowledged.
If you like Xmas, that's a bad thing...but for me, it's a treat to escape the constant buy, buy, buy of the USA.
There's just normal commercialism in Cuba and of course, constant street hustling. But you get used to it.
I must also confess that I have played this song...as loud as I could...dozens of times... from my "casa" in the central so the lyrics would reverberate over La Habana's Parque Central...but always only 3 times in a row so that the CDR, chivatos/spies) and policia would not bust my dueno.
Bulla/noisiness is normal in Cuba...but Willy Chirino is still prohibido/forbidden in Castro's Cuba.
