Infamous former admiral Emilio Eduardo Massera is dead at the age of 85 after a long illness.
He was one of the brutal three-man military junta that ruled Argentina between 1976 and 1983. Massera helped lead a coup that toppled President Isabel Eva Peron in 1976.
Massera was under house arrest after being convicted of the torture and murder of civilians during the "Dirty War" but avoided prosecution after a court ruled he was too ill to stand trial.
