The Cuban government has a week left to fulfill its promise to release 52 activists, opposition leaders and social critics.
So far, 39 dissidents arrested in a 2003 crackdown and eight others arrested separately have been freed after all agreed to leave the island for Spain (pictured) with their families.
But the remaining 13 are determined to stay on the isla.
"We want to stay in our homeland," Angel Moya's wife told The Associated Press. "The second he gets out of prison, he will continue his fight for democracy."
