ARGENTINA: Foreign Minister Taiana Abruptly Resigns.
MERCOPRESS/ In a surprise move, Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Taiana, 60, resigned citing a “lack of support and differences” in the implementation of foreign policy. Analysts speculate that several issues have marked Taiana’s differences with the Kirchners, especially the close relation with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Taiana had been foreign minister since 2005. He was replaced by ambassador to the U.S. Héctor Timerman. (Foto of Jorge Taiana)
