CHILE/U.S.: Kissinger Allegedly Halted Warning About Military Regime Killings.
AP/GOOGLE/ A newly declassified document reveals that Henry Kissinger halted warnings to Latin American nations about possible international political assassinations days before a bombing linked to Chile killed two in Washington. Analyst Peter Kornbluh, who uncovered the document and gave it to the LA Times, said a cable from Kissinger to his top Latin American deputy halted US diplomats' efforts to warn Chile, Uruguay and Argentina against involvement in a covert plan called“Operation Condor."

A secret memo just uncovered reveals that on Dec.9, 1971, President Richard Nixon offered Brasil's president,General Emilio Medici, aid to rid South America of leftist governments...including Salvador Allende of Chile and Fidel Castro.
Peter Kornbluh, director of the National Security Archive’s Chile and Brazil projects, said the documents revealed “a hidden chapter of collaborative intervention.”
