President Putin will name key economic adviser and ally Elvira Nabiullina, 49...to head Russia's central bank...and oversee its $2 trillion economy.
The Muslim woman would be the CBank's first female chief...and will replace retiring veteran Sergei Ignatyev in late June.
Only 3 other nations have female cbank heads.
Most outside observers view her as a 'safe choice'...but also more likely to submit to political pressure...permit inflation and looser monetary policies.
The WSJ describes her as a 'respected economist'...and 'pro-market technocrat.'
