A short round-up of some notable Mexico crime news.
Near Cancun, after a tip-off, police discovered 3 barrels containing perhaps 5 dissolved bodies on the San Juan ranch, located three kilometers (1.8 miles) from Leona Vicario, a community close to Cancun.
ALSO: At least 11 inmates died from stab wounds during a fight at the notorious Gomez Palacio prison in Durango.
Four inmates were murdered at the same prison in August.
Recently, it has also been rocked by corruption scandals involving officials.
Its warden and three other officials were arrested last year for allowing inmates to leave to carry out some 30 murders in the nearby city of Torreon.
