LINK CHANGE/ WSJ/ 1ST UPDATE: 31 July/ Ignacio "Nacho" Coronel, an associate of Mexico's most wanted drug thug "El Chapo" Guzman, meth promoter and Number 3 in the Sinaloa drug gang, was gunned down trying to escape in Guadalajara. Soldiers say he fired on them as helicopters hovered overhead. Officials describe Coronel's death as the biggest strike against drug gangs since 16 December when Arturo Beltran Leyva and six of his bodyguards were killed in Cuernavaca but warned more chaos may ensue as gangsters fight for his position. Also, one of the journalists kidnapped by a drug gang in Torreon was released Thursday and the U.S. consulate in C. Juarez was shut down Friday after a bomb threat.
