More than 30 members of Bolivia's elite police...have seized and ransacked their barracks...throwing-out their commanders...demanding higher wages.
They currently earn $194 per month...even after a recent 7% increase.
The barracks are just 100 meters from President Morales' palace...but Morales is in Rio at a UN summit.
Across the nation.. more than 4,000 police have reportedly joined the La Paz pay protest.
In February 2003...19 died during a wage battle with soldiers at the same barracks.
