BRASIL: Anti-Capitalist Activists Gather In Porto Alegre.

WASHINGTON POST/ Updated 26/01/
As many as 25,000 leftist activists are flooding into Porto Alegre to spend 5 days at the 10th annual World Social Forum, a countercultural gathering that contrasts against the exclusive World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. But the tone at Davos is different this year. "The fact that Davos is being held like it's a wake gives the impression that capitalism is on the downfall and hitting its limits," said a Social Forum co-founder. Many activists are cheering the humbling of bankers by the global economic meltdown.
