Just days after Chancellor Angela Merkel's Polish ancestry was revealed...a respected Polish magazine features her dressed as a concentration camp prisoner.
The cover story in the conservative Uwazam Rze is headlined : 'Falsification of History: How the Germans Made Themselves The Victims of World War 2.'
And...naturally...it is upsetting many Germans.
They call it tasteless.
The feature is seen as retaliation for a recent 3-part...14 million euro...German TV documentary that accused Polish resistance fighters of being anti-Semitic.
Recently...under Merkel and Polish PM Donald Tusk...trade and cordial political ties have increased between the nations...in sharp contrast to their historic roles...as distrustful enemies.
