    For decades...Cali was also known for something besides dangerous cocaine thugs.
    It was one of Latin America's salsa capitals.
    Mostly thanks to...Jairo Varela...who founded the band Grupo Niche.
    Varela died last week...from a heart attack...too young...at age 62.
