COSTA RICA : San Jose Gets Street Signs...For 1st Time.

As strange as this may seem...for decades...Costa Rica has gotten along...without addresses.
In a nation of 4 million...about the size of New Hampshire and Vermont combined... everyone seemed to know each other...and where things were...and it just worked.
But officials now estimate costs of such inefficiencies are too big to ignore...$720 million per year...in lost mail and revenues.
Now they are prepared to spend $2 million...for the 1st time...to upgrade San Jose...with real street signs...as the nation blossoms into a Central America tech center.
