Google will change its maps of Rio de Janeiro after officials there said it gave too much prominence to favelas/slums.
O GLOBO newspaper said favelas dominated Google's maps and neglected the wealthier districts and tourist sites...giving viewers a "false impression that the urban area is nothing more than an immense cluster of favelas".
"The maps turns Rio into a favela," said one resident. "Anyone who doesn't know the city would be frightened."
