After 8 months of legal limbo, an appeals court rejected an attempt to revoke convicted activist Lori Berenson's parole.
Berenson was released in May after serving 15 years for aiding leftist rebels.
The 41-year-old New Yorker can't leave Peru until her 20-year sentence ends in 2015 - unless President Alan Garcia commutes it. He has said he might consider it- after the legal case ran its course.
ALSO: Peru has officially joined joined a growing number of South American countries in recognizing Palestine as an independent and sovereign state.
But, like Chile, it does not recognize Palestine's borders pre-dating the Six-Day War of 1967.
Brasil, Argentina, Ecuador and Bolivia recognize those borders.
