The EU rule of law mission(Eulex)prosecutors have opened a preliminary investigation into allegations that Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) rebels trafficked organs.
In a report approved by investigator Dick Marty, a human rights watchdog claimed that organs were taken from prisoners killed by the KLA after the 1999 war against Serb forces.
In that report, Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci was accused of involvement in organized crime, including organ trafficking.
