An explosion and cave-in occurred in the same northern mine where 32 workers died in 2007...has officially killed 21 and injured 6.
Rescuers have finally ALL the bodies from the La Preciosa mine in Sardinata.
The mine has been ordered closed and safety procedures reviewed by President Santos, who is in Davos but will return to visit La Preciosa.
Bloomberg reports that Colombia is the world’s fourth-largest coal exporter and the world’s 11th-largest coal producer, supplying about 1.2 percent of global 2008 output.
AP reports that currently there are only 16 mine inspectors in all of Colombia.
