President Felipe Calderon ousted Interior Minister Fernando Gomez Mont, his second in command and the minister responsible for domestic security. Observers say Gomez Mont's departure was due to politics NOT security matters. Calderon named Jose Francisco Blake Mora, from the PAN-friendly state of Baja California, to replace Gomez Mont. Blake is a former federal legislator and a close friend of Calderon.
