URUGUAY: Government's Debt Skyrockets 31.5% In 2009.
MERCOPRESS/ In a complete reversal, Uruguay saw its governmental debt soar in 2009 from the previous four years. Total gross debt was $21.73 billion USD in December 2009, $5.2 billion USD higher than at the end of 2008--an increase of 31.5%.
