Latin American Economy To Contract More Than Predicted.
Bloomberg reports that..."Latin America’s gross domestic product will shrink 2.6percent in 2009, down from a previous forecast for a 1.5 percent drop, according to an update of the IMF’s World Economic Outlook. The region will bounce back in 2010, expanding 2.3 percent, up from a previous forecast for growth of 1.6 percent."

For The Coup Addicted: A Stroll Down Memory Lane.
Nothing like a good old Latin American coup to get my blood stirring.
It's been a while, too.
Some sources report the last LatAm coup in 1992. Others say it was 2002...when Hugo "the Ego" Chavez got bounced around.
Coups aplenty. That's why I think that I got hooked on Latin America in the first place.
The politics were always so interesting...and ever-changing.
I even quietly feared the coup drought...might go on.
Then along came...good old dependable...Honduras.
