Is Cuba's gravy train about to end?
Many Cubanos are anxiously following Venezuela's close presidential campaign...as guapo opposition candidate Henrique Capriles, 40...gives Hugo Chavez the challenge of his political life.
And...Chavez's year-long fight against an undisclosed cancer still lurks in the 'inky shadows.'
Capriles has vowed to end all foreign subsidies...and devote the money to Venezuela's many needs...crumbling infrastructure, housing, crime and prisons.
Currently...Chavez subsidizes 17 nations with reduced petrol prices.
In just 2010...43% of Venezuela's oil...was not paid for.
Cuba alone get $3 billion worth of oil annually...some 115,000 bbls daily...and another billion from other deals.
Without Caracas oil...Cubans fear the isla could return to the bleak days after the exit of the Soviet Union...called...'the special period.'
