The EU has launched a new front against controversial PM Viktor Orban...threatening to withhold E495 mn/$656 mn...in new subsidies in January.
Commissioner Olli Rehn wants Orban to lower deficits...below 3% of GDP.
Even though 22 other EU nations are above that level...without having funds withheld.
The EU doesn't like Orban's recent interference with Hungary's central bank...nor certain crisis taxes and pension changes.
