BRASIL: Melo Abused By Fans On Return To Rio.
ESPN/ Felipe Melo was the target of insults and jostling after the soccer team landed in Rio de Janeiro. The midfielder scored an own goal and was sent off for a spiking Arjen Robben in Brasil's defeat to the Netherlands in the World Cup quarter-final. Protected by bodyguards, Melo left the airport through a side door as fans heckled him over his performance, calling him one of the "fathers of defeat."
