VENEZUELA: Chavez Examines New Chinese Jets Purchase.
LAHT/ The first four K-8W jets of 18 purchased from China were reviewed by President Hugo Chavez at a Lara military airfield. Though reportedly bought for training purposes, the four are armed with machine guns, air-to-ground missiles, bombs and rockets. Chavez claimed he arrival of the aircraft made “March 13 a historic day for the Bolivarian anti-imperialist air force.”
