Those annoying soggy leftover coffee grounds from your morning coffee habit are surprizingly nutrient-rich and have just the right carbon-to-nitrogen ratio...for growing mushrooms. Women in Colombia and parts of East Africa grow mushrooms from them to fight malnutrition. Now some people in Berkeley, California are using the grounds to grow mushrooms commercially.
