NYTIMES/ A metal that was long ignored and used mainly to stabilize mental disorders is now a crucial ingredient for hybrid and electric cars and it is spurring a global hunt for new supplies. Mining consultant Edward Anderson says “There are a lot of people throwing money into this, and a lot of people are going to lose their money.” The four biggest current sources are Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Australia.
