BRASIL: The Film "Lula" Labelled Propaganda...And Simply "Bad."

"Lula-Brasil's Son" is a sympathetic new film portraying the life of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and his takeover of a powerful labor union and the nation's presidency. But political opponents call the gushing $7 million film nothing but propaganda. They also point out potential conflict of interests since it was financed by 18 companies ranging from construction firms to car makers, some with major contracts with the Lula government. Meanwhile, many film critics simply call the movie...bad.
