BLOOMBERG/ Rescuers are searching a hillside in San Jose's suburb of San Antonio de Escazu after a landslide there killed at least 22 people with 27 more missing.
The landslide resulted from two days of heavy rains that flooded a river near the town and sent nearly 600 people to shelters in nearby San Jose. The area received 6.3 inches (161 millimeters) of rain in just two hours.

COSTA RICA: Faces Obstacles As It Aims To Go Carbon Neutral by 2021.

Costa Rica wants to become the first country to go entirely carbon neutral by 2021. The country's current tourism slogan is "Costa Rica, no artificial ingredients" and almost all the electricity is renewable with 80% coming from hydroelectric power. But growing pollution from its capital San Jose stands in the way.
