It took less than 24 hours...but most of Patagonia's 5-square km Cachet Lake II...almost disappeared.
Only chunks of ice...and some puddles...remained.
When the dam-like Colonia Glacier melted...it allowed 200 million cubic liters of water to gush into a river...and draining the lake.
The Cachet II dropped...31 meters/90 feet.
It has happened before...11 times since 2008....but experts say it is occurring more frequently...because of global warming.
