Over $1.9 million confiscated at a private airport in Toluca...is fresh meat for Mexico's 2 major political parties...in the bitter 1 July presidential contest.
The controlling PAN party speculates that the cash is illegal swag...maybe even from Veracruz narcos...destined for the PRI party's leading presidential candidate...Enrique Pena Nieto...who lives in Toluca.
The state official carrying the cash...much of it newly minted bills...claims it was just a hasty fee payment for consulting.
