It was a grim week for Chancellor Angela Merkel.
She lost her 85-year-old father...and her party (CDU)...lost an election for the 5th time this year...most embarrassingly...in her home state of Mecklenburg/Western Pomerania.
While “people are worried about the euro and their savings losing value,” Merkel is using “the wrong words” by talking about euro bonds, claims a Berlin pollster. "That’s a technocratic, abstract idea. Her problem right now seems to be that she’s not finding the right tone. Somehow, she has lost the feel for what moves people.”
