MEXICO: Author/Journalist John Ross Dead at 72.

  Mexico expert, author, poet and journalist John Ross, 72, passed away from liver cancer in Michoacan.
  He wrote several books including one about the underbelly of Mexico City where he lived for decades.
   A prolific writer and leftist journalist, Ross wrote for the San Francisco Bay Guardian, where I started my reporting career, CounterPunch, Pacific News Service, and the Mexico City daily La Jornada.
