ECUADOR: Police And Army Wages Raised After Violence.

GUARDIAN/       It's really no surprise that the government is raising increased army and police pay for several ranks, just days after many police rebelled over a law that would have changed their bonuses.
But officials claim the new increases are NOT linked to last week's violence.
The pay hikes range from $400 and $570 usd for four ranks of the military and police. They will be backdated to January this year.
The total cost is estimated at $35 million usd annually.
